Nutcracker Performances

Aside from the Spring recitals, my first introduction to ballet was The Nutcracker.  Immediately, I was hooked!

I love the story, and watching it performed on stage is just magical.  It's always good fun to watch the parents get involved in the dancing in the party scene!  But the best part about it is just watching these young dancers do what they love best: performing on stage!

Since coming to Houston two years ago, I've shot Nutcrackers with the Houston Repertoire Ballet, the Woodlands Ballet Ensemble (Payne Academy), the Studio of Dance, and the Artisan Dance Company.

Here are a just a few of my favorite pictures:

Headshots

Headshots can be your standard head and shoulders shot, or it can incorporate creative angles or settings/backgrounds.  In particular, I seem to do a lot of head shots for dancers that they need for their auditions.

Feel free to contact me to set up a shoot for your headshot.

Travel

When it comes to travel, I can't tell you what a lucky guy I've been over the years.  I lived in Germany for almost six years, and especially during my time as a writer and photographer for The European Stars and Stripes in 1990-93, I managed to visit a lot of different countries.  One of my highlights was visiting East Germany right after the Berlin Wall came down.  Another highlight was running with the bulls in Pamplona, Spain!  I've also visited Italy, Spain, France, Holland, Belgium, Austria, Switzerland, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland.

In the USA, I've been from coast to coast, from the southern border right up to the northern border.  I've hit almost every state except Alaska and Hawaii -- how have I missed out on those two?

These pictures are from my more recent travels in the past few years.
